Scrub caps. Here are two of four I made on Saturday afternoon. Daughter-in-law requested some and we went to my stash and wha..lah....how fun they can be.
Can't wait to see what her co-workers think when she starts sporting these!
We made this on Friday afternoon. T measured my cuts for me and helped me at the sewing machine. She made sure Grandma didn't get her fingers too close to the needle and explored the sewing drawer with machine tools etc. Pattern was purchased at L & L Yard Goods in Madison, IN on the Charming Shop Hop last weekend. Fabric came from there as well. Pattern is: Flirty Skirty by Whistlepig Creek Productions. Even with T's help I was able to read the directions and get it done in a couple hours or so. I made this one a bit big so the next one will be more to size and have three tiers of ruffles rather than just two. It was great having her here while I worked on it so I could stop when it got long enough and I could adjust the elastic to the waist size.
Gift for another Grandma. This was fun. Had not worked on the embroidery machine for awhile. Baseball was a Dakota Collectible design which I sized to fit my hoop. Lettering from my Dakota Sizer.
Shirts for a local business. I always get nervous working on shirts when they aren't my hubby's. Always afraid the machine will eat one or something will be completely out of square. I also did five shirts for hubby Thursday afternoon. His went much faster....not as many stitches.
As you can see the later part of the week had no quilting but lots of fun stuff in the sewing room. And God Blessed us with a beautiful week.
Hope you have all celebrated our Risen Savior today and enjoyed your families.
After church this morning we went to Hy-Fly in Crothersville to watch great nephew ride his MX bike. Wow, a great group of folks and all those kids on motorcycles....some smaller than T. I like to ride but you would never have seen Aunt Pat jumping those hills! Good going Stephen. Erick you'll be back soon when you are all healed.
My friend had a baby shower to attend, we searched the computer for designs, Embroidery Library and Artistic Threadworks along with some from Dakota Collectibles supplied the required designs. We didn't know if it is a girl or boy so tried to make them gender neutral...but nursery has a brown wall....so leaned on brown, green, and yellow. Had a ball picking them out and watching them sew out.
This was a dozen burps. She tells me they went over well. I am glad.
Friday of this week was a trip to Columbus, IN for the Holiday Quilt Extravaganza. Bunches of quilt shops from Indy to West Virginia were here with their wares! The shopping was great. I had a good time and a good lunch.
Yesterday morning, I put together a bag of goodies/kit for a friend in Florida and put it in the mail. I used English paper pieces that I found at the show (Dresden) a pattern that I found at the show using Dresden and triangle shapes to make a basket with flowers and fat quarters also purchased on Friday. She was unable to make it back to Indiana for the show so we sent a little of the show her way.
This afternoon, I made a purse
The Hollyhock Quilt shop from Corydon, IN had the pattern at the show.
About Town Bag, from Fig Tree & Co. is the pattern name and maker.
My part of the bag was super simple. My husband had the hard part of putting in the grommets....but he doesn't seem to think they are hard...so there might be some more of these purses in the works. I loved the fabric and only had a sliver of it left when I finished cutting the pieces. I even had a perfect lining fabric in my stash....It was meant to be....and so this one is mine.
The rest of the week will be working on cleaning the house and the barn and doing some cooking for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to a house/barn full. A favorite time of year.
Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get back here before then.
May God Bless!
