Here is my first baby quilt for 2014. Disappearing Nine-Patch pattern.
Love the blues and other bright colors in this approximately 38" square baby quilt. All cotton fabrics, binding, batting, and threads.
Made in my non-smoking home.
All ready for a baby to snuggle in or lay on the floor and play on.
Oh la la. This quilt reminds me of cotton candy. Guess it is the pink and lavender flannels that look so soft.
I serged the edges of the ruffle fabric strips then ruffled them on my sewing machine. I used the longest stitch length and the highest tension setting and even added more tension by holding my finger on the thread on top the machine before it went in the take up lever. Worked beautifully. I left about 12 inches of thread at the beginning and the end of my stitching to allow for making adjustments after taking off the machine.
Then the ruffles were sewn down the middle of the matching color strips. Next each strip was layered and serged together.
Love how this turned out. Now I just need to do the hand binding and it is all ready for delivery.
This quilt is so very soft. Made of flannel front and back. With a cotton binding.
Fun quilting designs. Perfect if you don't know the gender of the baby. Now listed on Etsy.
Thank you! SOLD on Etsy.
Another 30's style fabric baby quilt. 2 1/2 blocks in the center, surrounded by scattered bunnies and bears.
Thank You. Sold on Etsy.
This Asian print quilt is one of my favorites. The tumbler blocks are a Northcott fabric and have gold accents. The pink fabric is from Moda and is a mottled pink that has a bit of sheen to it. I used the Accuquilt Go! to cut the large tumblers and Missouri Star Quilt Co's 2 1/2 inch tumbler template to cut the tumblers for the borders. This one was so much fun to construct and I guess I like the bling of the gold on the fabric.
This quilt it at Keepsake Quilting on Consignment. It is listed on their Pintrest account under consignment quilts. It keeps good company.
Finally finished Glamma's baby quilt for Vivian. Also finished labels for both this one and Vivian's that she gets to keep at home. Embroidery designs are from Julia's Needle. I did them in a plum/lavender on water spotted nearly black and trimmed blocks in a plum with green batik smashing and borders. Used the same black on the binding. The label was a Lilly oval with fonts added from my Janome machine. Now Glamma has two little quilts for Vivian.
And this was replaced with one with the correct date! Just an hour and half off!
I think I will call this Crinkly Pink. Back side is the same as the ruffle. I opted for no batting in this one as the flannel is heavy enough for a throw for youngsters. Approximately 36 x 39 inches.
Thanks to www.2littlehooligans.com for your tutorial. Mine is a big larger but I love the way the ruffles are sewn together for the body of the quilt. Ready to try one with regular quilting cotton rather than this flannel. I can see that it will be more Crinkly!
Progress on a ruffle quilt. Making it with flannels. Tutorial is from: www.2littlehooligans.com. Posted as ruffled baby lovey on 9/23/11. Mine is turning out larger.
Fabrics are all flannels. Purchased at Checker's Open House in August.
Love how they co-ordinate. Would love to add the pink circles as the ruffle around the outside edge of the quilt but not nearly enough of it in the stack of flat folds.
Here it is with the corners rounded and ready to add the ruffle. Now I am off to make the ruffle.
